Just curious to hear how others practice, in terms of number of rotations and direction per breath.
Meaning, do you do one breath all clockwise rotations, and then another counter-clockwise, and then another middle? Or do you combine them?
I have experimented with various patterns — such as doing as many as possible in one direction for one breath, and then as many as possible in the other direction for the next breath — but now I have settled on a 49-movement rep, 21 clockwise, 21 counterclockwise, and then 7 central pumps. I used to push it up to 30 or 40 on each side, and finish with 10 middle, but now I do Nauili mostly as a counterbalance to Uddiyana Bandha, so it's more of a maintenance practice, rather than something I'm really trying to go full force with.
Anyone have a different way of doing it?
Also, have you seen Reinhard Gammenthaler's video on Nauli? He basically just bangs it back and forth, from one side to the other, and not so much a rotation. It's available in this video section:

Theos Bernard also describes a different way of going about Nauli and Uddiyana in his book Hatha Yoga…anyone experimented with this also?
